Step Forward for the CIOB AwardsChartered Institute of Building
The CIOB Awards 2022 saw the unveiling of a new creative treatment, in line with the new CIOB brand, as well as the addition of new categories including Sustainability and EDI Awards.
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Awards celebrate the achievements of those who inspire, lead and enable the very best delivery of a project and produce buildings that have a positive impact on those who use them. The Demographik team are delighted to have designed the award programme each year.
The CIOB Awards campaign calendar runs a full year, with the design of marketing materials required for all the key stages including Call for Entry, Announcement of finalists, event ticket sales and then the event itself.
The task was to give the CIOB Awards a unique/distinctive positioning within the new brand. This meant the opportunity for a complete redesign – a fresh approach. We used the new CIOB brand colours in a dramatic way to create a sophisticated look that was elegant and aspirational. The campaign line of ‘Step forward’ encourages entries and also aligns with the new CIOB brand positioning of the cultural shift. The new awards structure, with new award categories added, meant each needed an individual identity through colour and icons. We designed unique icons to help bring clarity to the six awards categories, as well as the icons for the eight Construction Manager of the Year sub categories.

In the time we have worked together they have displayed equal flare and thought in the production of video and printed content. What I really appreciate is their infectious dedication and an unerring ability to meet our deadlines. They are consistently great. And that is not easy.
Creating a compelling and unique identity for The Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA). An event which has been showcasing incredible talent and highlighting the abilities of Construction Managers across the UK every year.
Following the introduction of a company wide strategic initiative to increase collaboration and information sharing internally, XL Catlin contacted Demographik to help create, design and deliver the corresponding visual identity, ‘Spark’.
Having delivered more than 10 websites, several policy reports and hundreds of content assets, we have a body of work that stretches over a large amount of the CIOB’s digital presence and member engagement.
