Launch of the Retail Leadership Apprenticeship Degree

KINGSTON UNIVERSITY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LIDL

Kingston University approached us with an exciting challenge: to design a co-branded identity and brochure for their new Retail Leadership Apprenticeship Degree. This innovative program, developed in partnership with Lidl, needed a visual identity that would reflect the strengths of both the University and the high street retailer.

The design identity of a dual branded course

Our first step was to create a visual identity that would seamlessly blend the branding of both Kingston University and Lidl. We adopted a ‘sliding-scale’ approach in our initial concepts, experimenting with how much of Lidl’s bold brand elements—such as their photography and tone of voice—could be incorporated without losing the essence of Kingston University’s established style. After several rounds of collaboration and refinement, we arrived at a design that led with Lidl’s identity, while still maintaining a connection to the University’s academic image.

Design and production of an accessible brochure

Next, we focused on designing a brochure that was both visually appealing and easy to navigate. The brochure was structured in a modular way, allowing prospective students to easily understand the course structure and the various learning pathways available. We carefully selected the tone of voice and imagery to resonate with a broader audience, particularly those who might not have initially considered pursuing a degree.

This project was a great example of how we can blend distinct brand identities into a unified, professional, and approachable whole.

Results
